With National Signing Day scheduled at Stepinac for Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 11a.m., some of the Crusaders have already benefited from their hard work in the classroom and on the gridiron in the past four years.

Senior Offensive Tackle Dan Pomposello has made a verbal commitment to attend the University of New Haven on a Football Scholarship. The Crusaders Captain, all six feet and 305 pounds of his solid mass, has verbally committed to New Haven, which is a member of the Northeast 10 Conference of Division II.

Pomposello was also offered a Football Scholarships to LIU CW Post University, Southern Connecticut State University and Merrimack College. Pomposello is a White Plains resident. He was a three-year varsity starter for the Crusaders, who garnered CHSFL All-State Honorable Mention.

Despite recovering from a broken ankle that he sustained against Monsignor Farrell, on Saturday, Oct. 27, the colleges still pursued Crusaders six-feet and four-inch Tight End/Defensive End Tarik Stovall.

Stovall has verbally committed to attend Marist College of the Division 1 Pioneer League. “The leg is getting better. I am suppose to get the boot off in about a week and then start rehabilitation,” revealed Stovall. “It is amazing! I love Marist and Stepinac really prepared me well for this moment both academically in the classroom and physically on the field,” stated Stovall.

As National Signing Day approaches, Crusaders Quarterback Dan Hoffer was offered another scholarship. This time it was to the University of Maine of the Division 1 Colonial Athletic Conference, who extended a Full Football Scholarship to Hoffer.

The Crusaders QB is expected to make a decision this week. Hoffer is also entertaining offers from Wagner College and Marist. Hoffer is a three-sport letterman at Stepinac, while playing football, basketball and baseball.
