We are part of The Trust Project

In a village election that would decide the next mayor and two trustee seats, Cold Spring voters made their choices clear Wednesday as more than 700 residents went to the polls.

Dave Merandy was elected mayor, trouncing opponent Barney Molloy by a landslide 454-261 margin, while Marie Early and Fran Murphy topped Bob Ferris to earn the two open trustee seats. Early, who ran with Merandy on the People’s Party line, was the top voter-getter with 508 and Murphy, who ran independently, notched 500 votes. Ferris, who ran on the VOTE Party line with Molloy, garnered 257 votes. All the totals are according to the county’s Board of Elections unofficial results.
