Will the 19 points he scored in the Tigers loss to Spring Valley High School in the Quarterfinals of the Section 1 Playoffs last season, be the last points Tucker scores for White Plains High School.

At this time it is no longer a rumor or a mere tweet from Tucker himself that brings conjecture that Tucker is “taking his talents” to Stepinac High School to play in the Catholic High School Athletic Association.

Stepinac Athletic Director Mike O’Donnell has confirmed that Tucker has applied and been accepted to Stepinac High School. “Jordan Tucker has come to Stepinac and applied through our admissions office and he has been interviewed and he has been accepted. But at this time he is not an enrolled student at Stepinac High School,” stated O’Donnell.

Regardless, if Tucker is an enrolled student at Stepinac at this time or not; the mere fact that the 6’ 7” wingman has demonstrated his willingness to transfer high schools within the City of White Plains is a major development.

Tucker came to White Plains High School amongst much anticipation that his enormous skill level would help lead the Tigers to another Section 1 Championship. Also he is a player that Tigers Head Coach Spencer Mayfield could build a potential Championship team around for the coming years.

Tucker averaged nearly 14 points per game last season as a freshman on the Tigers varsity team. The sleek agile wingman runs the floor well and can play any position on the court including point guard and center and he is a prolific three-point shooter.

On June 7, 2014, Tucker was listed by ESPN on the list of the Top 25 High School Basketball Players for the Class of 2017. Tucker was listed number 25 in the nation on the list of college recruits for the Class of 2017.

If Tucker follows through and enrolls at Stepinac, it would be a devastating loss to the Tigers basketball program and produce overwhelming optimism for the Crusaders basketball program in the coming years.
