Celebrate Women’s History Month With Professional Women of Westchester

We are part of The Trust Project

Professional Women of Westchester, now in its fifth year, celebrates Women’s History Month on Monday, March 2 at the White Plains Crowne Plaza Hotel. Special guest speaker, Nancy Armstrong, is a producer and founding member of the team that created the award winning website and documentary series, “MAKERS – Women Who Make America.” Nancy will talk about her journey and the monumental contributions of women from our past and present, as well as where women will take it from here.

Monies raised from a special auction fundraiser will benefit the 2015 White Plains YMCA/Community YMCA/Camp Combe YMCA Annual Campaign, which provides scholarships for daycare/aftercare/camp for children of families in need throughout Westchester.

“Living as women in the 21st century, many of us take our voice for granted,” says Jamie Imperati, president, Professional Women of Westchester. “This year, we want to put an accent on the bravery, determination and success of our predecessors who have forged a path for women and have enabled us to rise and lead today. Nancy’s presentation will honor ground-breaking women and celebrate our collective journey.”

MAKERS.com is a dynamic, digital platform from AOL showcasing thousands of compelling stories from America’s most groundbreaking women.   Nancy was recognized as part of the founding team of MAKERS with a Women’s Media Center Award for MAKERS’ groundbreaking contribution to women, history, and America.

Women are encouraged to join this important event. In order to attend, participants must register and pay in advance via the Professional Women of Westchester website: professionalwomenofwestchester.com.
