Knicks Turn Off the Heat in Miami

Knicks Turn Off the Heat in Miami

And the Oscar goes to… In a stunning upset last night in Miami, “Melodrama” was upstaged by the action/adventure Knick joyride, “Beach Slap,” a cautionary tale of courage, heart and the enduring spirit of man. The show concluded with Amar’e Stoudemire rejecting “King James’ Speech” on Oscar night, and the raucous crowd in attendance at [...]

Westchester Wine Heaven

This is the first in a series of articles about my favorite restaurant in Westchester, Crabtree’s Kittle House. Located at 11 Kittle Road in Chappaqua, its name comes from John Kittle, who built the original barn on the property in 1790, and the Crabtree family, the current owners.  As you can imagine, I am more critical [...]

In Social Media, It’s All About Providing Value

Last week, I wrote about “The Three Keys to Building Community Through Social Media.” It has been my contention that the most overlooked ingredient to building communities is the one I refer to as “providing value.” In the past week, I’ve paid particular attention to how various Westchester businesses are doing exactly that — “providing [...]

2011 Yankees Primed After Blockbuster Offseason

Brian Cashman is crazy. Like a fox! Falsely maligned by fans and media blowhards alike after failing to acquire Sandy Koufax, aka Cliff Lee, during the offseason, the general manager of the New York Yankees actually executed his strategic roster vision to perfection. But,  since no one’s been able to get inside Cashman’s head to [...]

knife sharpening equipment

Not the Sharpest Knife in the Drawer

The question I am asked most frequently as a Chef is “Who sharpens your knives?” The answer is, I do.  Usually this is followed by “How?”  That answer is a little more involved.  Many people just don’t bother to sharpen their knives, perhaps because they don’t realize how important it is to work with a [...]

The 3 Keys to Building Community Through Social Media

I’ve read quite a bit about building communities through social media recently, and it’s caused me to stop and think about some of the communities I’ve been involved with over the  past two years. It’s obvious to me that building communities is one of the single most important components of social media. As far as I’m [...]

For example: – One used to be able to arrive at the [...]

These days, the New York Knicks find themselves knee-deep in a riveting Melodrama of epic proportions. If it ends badly, there will surely be a Melocalypse in NYC and Carmelogeddon in the front office at MSG. It’s hard [...]
